The Scavenged is the umbrella setting for Playable Fiction (PF) games. Our games are designed to engage students in a compelling story (playable fiction) to enact an entrepreneurial mindset. Alternative reality games ask players to pretend they’re living in a carefully constructed parallel universe that can include fake websites, phones, and natural objects hidden throughout the world.

The narrative is built around a science fiction narrative prompting students to collaboratively ‘save the future.’ An unidentified evil corporation and a mobile on-site clean-up crew are transporting an¬†extraterrestrial item. There is an interplay between the ‘future’ and trying to help the ‘present’ prevent a horrible¬†event. The use of a clear temporal storage box allowed for communication across timelines.
